Search Engine Optimization
Wikipedia defines SEO as “search engine optimization” or “search engine optimizers”. As you are reading this article you will be search engine optimizer as I was.
Search engine optimization is a term used to describe any process of making a website more relevant to a search engine for a specific key phrase. This process is applied to each and every URL in a website specially all the pages that are targeting specific keywords in searches. In other words, onsite optimization.
Following is a short list of all the tips you should follow in order to be search engine friendly:
Title tag is an html tags used for page titles of each page. Title tag tells the user on which website the page belongs to which in other words it tells them which page that is. Title is also equally important for spiders and bots. Title tag is one of the most important factors for SEO.
Use keywords in page title
The title tag tells the user and the search engine which page it is, its titles should be relevant to the page’s content. Try to do something interesting and relevant in the title of the page to help users and the search engines.
Avoid using flash for your Page
Don’t use flash for your front page because flash cannot be read by the Google bot and the search engine spider assume that this is a flash page. How will you search engine find it if someone presented me a flash into my browser when search engine can’t read flash?
Description Meta tag
Meta description tag is the second most important factor of SEO after title tag. The tag tells user what to search in the search engine for the specific page, and also it helps to show the search engines page description in the searchresults page. Description Meta tag can be attached to each and every important and important page inside a website but if you use description Meta tag on every and every page then you are actually spamming as the description Meta tag is invisible to a user but visible to search engines.
Don’t optimize page for more than one or two key phrase
When you are on the main page of your website and you realise that that your heart is racing particularly with all those keywords that you are trying to optimize and you cannot get a good value from your page, distraction go immediately your page. Try to focus on one or two key phrases that matter for the largest part of your page that also give a good number of visitors in all search engines.
On page SEO
Making your website search engine friendly costs lots of tags, a lot of tags divided into HTML tags, HTML tags divided into keywords, keywords divided into your page title tags, etc. There are many onpage SEO tags and this list is never ending.
Web Site Traffic
The one thing a great many people have in common is their desire and the desire to be successful online, and the ability to attract and drive web site traffic seems to be the stumbling block that seemingly solo Internet Marketers face every day.
In fact it’s not uncommon amongst many the so-called experts to proclaim that all you need to do is set up a web site, give away some free stuff and the subscribers will just start streaming into it, with the ‘ whistles and bells’ showing up all over the high street but not so with my internet business, because although I have told you it’s not that hard, and that anyone can do it (I live in aMethod Town, remember!), not everyone has the drive and organisation to be in control of their own life and lives.
The problem is, on the Internet, every site is the same as everybody else, and to succeed online you’ve got to find a way to set your site apart. You’ve got to be different because there are thousands of other people also selling the same product as you, whether it’s a product you’ve created or a product you’ve purchased ready to be marketed to others, so finding something that sets you apart can often be the difference between a ‘penny a pop’ site and a site that churns in hordes of web site traffic every day.
So what should you do?
Firstly, in all your web site traffic, if you are selling a product, simply notify your readers that they are going to win something for nothing if they ‘sign up for our newsletter’ or ‘also check out this site [http://www.yourweb URL].’, then offer them the download link in details for when they arrive. A reminder and a ‘whatsit’, what I’m talking about. Don’t hard sell them and keep your ‘whatsit’ for the end, tell them where you got it, why you use it and, so on and so forth.
Next, do the same as above, except now add free samples of your products, because why on earth would you give away something for free and then try to make more of it! How often have you seen banner ads offering samples on the internet, to entice people to buy a product? The theme of the message is exactly the same, keep them wanting the full version and put those links in your ‘whatsit’ so that when they reach the merchants web site they are already in the right frame of mind, and looking for something else, which actually means they are ready to buy. You are increasing the chances of them thinking of the next thing they need to do just before they buy buying, by offering them a value you’re offering that’s ‘just right for free’.
Many search engines, such as Google, offer pay per click, so don’t lose track of this, and add as many pay per click search engines to attract that extra web site traffic.
